GP Partners

DR RICHARD BURLING

MB ChB

Dr Burling qualified from Leicester University in 1989, and has been a GP at St. Stephen's since 2000 having served seven years in Wales. His medical interests include sports and musculoskeletal medicine. He has three children and is sports mad. Dr. Burling is also interested in teaching GP Trainees.

DR ALEX PATERSON

Dr Patterson has worked at St Stephen's surgery since 2014, having been a registrar here in 2010/11. She has been a partner here since 2021. She is a tutor to students from both Birmingham and Warwick medical school and has an interest in palliative care, women's health, and trying to make eco-friendly changes within the practice and at home. In her spare time, she enjoys running and playing netball.

DR JAY PAWADSHETTI

MB BS

Dr Pawadshetti has an interest in End of Life Care and Oncology as he has worked in this field previously. He is one of the End of Life care leads for the Practice. He also has an interest in teaching GP Trainees.

DR ELIZABETH ORDWAY

MB ChB MRCGP DRCOG DFFP

Dr Ordway qualified from Cardiff in 2000.She completed her GP training in the South Wales valleys, Australia and Redditch and came to St Stephen’s in 2005 as a Registrar. Her medical interests include sexual and women’s health (fits coils and implanons), and teaching medical students. She is married with three children and enjoys running, reading, cooking and relaxing with friends.

DR KERRY WALSH

MBChB (hons) MRCGP DRCOG DFFP

Dr Walsh qualified in Sheffield & specialises in Diabetes and also has a interest in Women's Health and Contraception. Dr Walsh also trains Warwick GP Trainees.

DR THOMAS BALDWIN

Dr Baldwin studied medicine at the University of Birmingham, completing the graduate entry programme in 2011 having previously done a degree in Biochemistry at The University of Nottingham. Special interests include allergy where he works one day a week for City Hospital in Birmingham and Medical student teaching. In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking and supports Villa.

DR SAHIRA ISAJI

DR CARTE

Dr Carte completed her degree and foundation years in South Africa. She has since trained and qualified as a GP in the West Midlands. Dr Carte enjoys line dancing, playing the piano and baking in her free time.

DR JANE ASH

Dr Ash trained in Manchester She has previously worked at a GP Surgery in South Birmingham for 13 years. She also mentors medical students Dr Ash has a special interest in: Diabetes To relax Dr Ash enjoys long walks in the countryside

DR LUCY COX

Dr Cox trained at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical school (Imperial College, London) She grew up in Solihull. Special interests are women and children’s health and diabetes. Lucy has 2 daughters, 2 cats, 4 chickens and a rabbit.. She loves to be outdoors as often as she can and spends her spare time cycling, running, playing tennis and being Mum

DR SEHAR UMER

Dr Umer trained with the South Worcestershire GP Scheme She has previously worked at GP Surgeries in Worcester and Droitwich Dr Umer has a special interest in: Womens Health and Family Planning To relax Dr Umer enjoys long walks and baking with her son Abdullah

DR THOMAS GARRATT-KIRK

Dr Garratt-Kirk graduated from Sheffield Medical School in 2012 with MBChB (Hons). He then underwent my foundation training for 2 years in Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust performing a range of different specialities. Tom is a GP Appraiser.

DR DEBORAH HARRIS

Dr Harris trained at Cambridge University then the Royal Free Medical School in London She did her GP training in South Birmingham and has worked as a GP in Birmingham for the past 12 years. Dr Harris also works as a GP Appraiser for NHS England Dr Harris has a special interest in: Paediatrics, Psychiatry and Lifestyle Medicine To relax Dr Harris enjoys spending time with family, holidays, and cooking

Dr Dronavalli has been at St Stephen's surgery for a year. She has a special interest in medical education and currently teaches Warwick medical students. She also has a special interest in sports and exercise medicine.

Sister Keen specialises in diabetes and is competent in all treatment procedures.

HANNAH COYLE

Sister Coyle is competent in all treatment room procedures and has keen interests in rheumatoid arthritis, learning difficulties and contraception.

Sister Metcalf is competent in all treatment procedures.

ELAINE BOYLAN

Sister Boylan is a specialist Diabetic Nurse.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (blood tests), blood pressure measurement, various injections, ECG's, spirometry with reversibility and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

Pharmacists

Asum & Amir are based in the surgery working as part of the clinical team alongside the GPs and nurses. The main purpose of their role is to help the team deliver high-quality care to patients by making full use of their clinical skills. This will be achieved by dealing with any medication or prescription queries, liaising with community pharmacies, undertaking medication reviews and ensuring that repeat prescriptions are updated after patients have been discharged from hospital. If you feel that he can help you in anyway then you can book a telephone consultation with him via reception. Asum also deals with, high BP, minor illness, depression reviews and much more. Amir deals with asthma, COPD and diabetic clinics.

Community Midwives

The community midwives work in association with the doctors, providing care during pregnancy and immediately afterwards.

Community Nurses

The District nurse team provide nursing care to patients who are confined to their own homes. You can phone them direct on 01527 488350.

Health Visitors

Health Visitors are Registered Nurses with a further qualification which equips them with the knowledge and skills to deal with children aged 0–5 years. They offer support to women antenatally, new parents, families, people experiencing bereavement, provide counselling and health promotion. The Health Visitor role includes caring, advising, supporting and educating individuals, families, groups and the community on health related issues. Physician Associates

Physician Associates (PAs) are healthcare professionals who help provide care for patients. Physician Associates always work under the direct supervision of a named GP. PAs can take a medical history, perform examinations and diagnose patients with a wide range of health problems. While PAs currently do not have prescribing rights, they can prepare prescriptions for GPs to review and issue.
